Easy Diameter Development

Building a Diameter Connection You Trust

Telecom operators today expect easy quick installation of network elements, application servers and billing and rating servers. The days where proprietary protocols required lengthy and costly integration projects are long gone. Telecom operators today expect high level of standardization in the various servers introduce into the network. The immediate implication of this is every new element needs have standard interfaces built in. This is especially true for the new control plane interfaces.

The Diameter Standard

One of the major new standard protocols introduced into the telecom control plane is the Diameter protocol. Diameter has not only replaced a variety of older AAA and signaling protocols such as RADIUS, LDAP and COBRA, it also provides vast additional functionality enabling greater control and new models for new telecom networks and services, as well as full connectivity to the billing, charging and rating systems.

Today any software introduced or interfaced with the core network of the telecom operator is required to have built in the relevant Diameter interfaces. It is thus very important for any telecom software developer to examine the specific Diameter control plane requirements relevant to the application produced. It is very likely that a standard Diameter is required as an essential part of the software.

Traffix, the NGN and Diameter control plane experts, is providing developers with the essential tools to enable, fast, easy, and cost effective product development. Using Traffix OpenBlox Diameter Stack, building Diameter enabled software is made easy and cost effective.

Diameter Solutions

The Diameter protocol is used to perform Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) and provides the support for the essential functions of subscription, charging and policy management in the network. Today we see Diameter as an essential part of the telecom network.

Diameter is a client/server protocol for handling service requests like subscriber validation (authentication), network resource control (authorization), and charging and billing applications (accounting) in IP networks. Diameter also holds additional control information about the transactions performed, such as location, type of transaction, Quality of Service as well as additional data, where some of it can be user defined and vary from one implementation to another.

Traffix – The Diameter Experts

Traffix Systems leads the open source and commercial Diameter market by providing state-of-the-art Diameter stack in pure Java and C++ programming languages. Traffix's Diameter stack was downloaded and tested by thousands of engineers worldwide and implemented by more than 120 companies in their commercial applications, thus making Traffix stack the market benchmark and standard.

OpenBlox Protocol Stack

OpenBlox Protocol Stack is a portable, extensible and standards-based protocol stack provided in native C++ and Java that enables a straight forward and cost effective embedding of Diameter support. The OpenBlox Diameter Stack architecture follows the Diameter layers model defined in RFC 3588.
