Traffix Diameter Load Balancer - Technology
The Traffix Diameter Load Balancer (Prism) is an important part of the Diameter control plane architecture. Diameter load balancing technology is essential in supporting the scalable introduction of Diameter based network elements into the telecom network. As telecom networks scale up their data traffic capacity based on new service introduction a clear strategy on how to achieving control plane scalability is becoming essential to any telecom operator. The Traffix Diameter Load Balancer was designed to distribute high volume of Diameter traffic based on various load balancing algorithms and strategies, including round-robin, server weighting and least connections, as well as Diameter contextual load balancing, where load balancing is based on the actual content of the transaction.
Load Balancing Resilience
Traffix Diameter Load Balancer contains as part of its core technology an advanced configurable mechanism which enables resilience and full states' persistence.
Service Monitoring Technology
Traffix Diameter Load Balancer integrated server Diameter monitoring technology ensures that servers and their associated applications are always operational.
In the event of remote server or application outage, the Traffix Diameter Load Balancer technology facilitates automatic failover among servers to ensure continuous service availability. To mitigate risks associated with failures, a number of Traffix Diameter Load Balancers can be deployed in an active/passive configuration.
Traffix Diameter Load Balancer is offered in several load configurations across several standard Telco-grade platforms. The platform can handle up to 20,000 Transactions per Second (TPS). Larger capacity options are also enabled by utilizing scalable hardware configuration.
