This is not based a single field, or single AVP capability, but the ability to actually define contextual rules based on any attribute or any AVP within the Diameter protocol, including user defined AVPs and non-standard AVPs. The standard Diameter Gy interface between the GGSN and the Online Charging System - OCS is often one of the complicated interfaces within the network charging infrastructure. Multiple OCS’s usually support a single GGSN. OCS response time is critical to service enablement and user experience, thus the response from the OCS is both essential and time-critical. The Traffix Diameter Load Balancer enables increased network scalability cost effectively and quickly.
Since this is a Diameter level load balancer the ongoing maintenance configuring and reconfiguring activity such as, adding new client or server nodes, adding load balancing schemes, adding new rules and changing existing rules is simple and easy.
